To Upload A Picture To Your Free AOL Space

In the address field of AOL where you'd type in an internet address or keyword, type in MY FTP SPACE and hit GO. (I'm using AOL 5.0, but 6.0 shouldn't be any/much different.)  Surprisingly, just typing MY SPACE seems to work too.  You'll get a screen like this.

Now click on See My FTP Space and you'll get a screen like this:

You can see in my case that I already have some pictures uploaded.

To upload a new picture, click on the Upload icon.  You'll get a screen like this.

Just type in the picture name.  In this case, I'm using GarfieldBeach.jpg.  Be careful how you type it.  This is case sensitive.  Make sure you match the name of the picture exactly, including the extension.  Then click Continue.  You'll get this screen.

Now click Select File and you'll get this screen.

See how I selected the picture I wanted, GarfieldBeach.jpg?  And as long as Preview Picture is checked, you can even see the picture to make sure you got the right one.  Now click OPEN and this is the screen you get.

.

See how it has the location of the file?  Now click SEND and you'll see this screen which shows the progress of the upload..

.

When it is done, click OK and your FTP space will look like this.

See how the picture shows in the directory?

Well, you did good!  Your picture is now available for viewing by anyone that has internet access and knows where to look.

What is the URL of your picture?  THIS one is

http://members.aol.com/dandolfn/GarfieldBeach.jpg

For yours, put in your AOL screen name instead of "dandolfn" and your picture's name instead of "GarfieldBeach.jpg" and you're all set!

Congratulations!
